Certainly having a clear and consise message can be helpful and you must always consider your audience. However, you should be careful not to miss out on the opportunity to grow as a presenter and also to help your audience grow and understand things in new ways. It's a fine line to walk and I think you do an excellent job (granted, I haven't been around much recently). Maybe consider using your blog (or a podcast type deal) for expanding on simplified ideas in your sermons. This might also be a good way to keep people engaged in the message longer which would allow for further growth and development of ideas.
